My earliest memories of life all include cats, the first
several were orange tabby males named Penny who inexcusably all had short life
spans. I guess back in the day people didn’t often get their pets spayed or
neutered the way they do now and these male cats spent most of their nights out
searching for some action and would ultimately get hit by a car and
killed. My father’s belief that is was
not right to take “that” away from the poor creatures probably had more to do
with the fact that they simply had no money for the procedures. As a child, I
took those losses in stride, knowing that before long there would be another
cute and cuddly kitten to replace the lost Penny. My Mother on the other hand, always deeply
mourned the losses, as we would today, and finally, by my senior year, put her
foot down and refused to open either her home or her heart to any more
cats.
Over time, Michael and I will share with you the stories of
our cats, both the ones we have today and those that we have loved and lost, and
others we have come to love. Today we
share our home with Boo Boo, Jack, Zeus, Hermes, Hades, Athena, Aphrodite,
Sunny, Ghost, and Sundance who lives on our patio from time to time.
Love your page and will happily keep up with your 10 babies antics as I will most certainly shar our 2! Scout and Napoleon have lots of adventures in Marlton New Jersey!
